Our programs

SECTION 8 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM

The Glassboro Housing Authority administers 232 units of tenant based rental assistance in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. Under the program, the participants generally pays 30% of their adjusted monthly income towards rent and utilities and the GHA pays the rental assistance directly to third party landlords on behalf of the assisted participant. The participant is free to choose any housing that meets the requirements of the program and is not limited to units located in subsidized housing projects. The assisted dwelling units are subject to inspections in accordance with Housing Quality Standards promulgated by the U.S. Department of HUD.

PROJECT-BASED VOUCHER PROGRAM (RAD)

The Glassboro Housing Authority currently owns and operates three (3) developments designed for elderly or disabled persons.. The developments contain efficiency, one, and two bedroom apartments. Tenants pay 30% of their adjusted monthly income towards rent and utilities.

Village at Harmony Garden in Glassboro, NJ will feature 65 one-story cottage units containing 57 one-bedroom and 8 two-bedroom units. 100% of the units will be affordable to residents at or below 60% of Area Median Income of Gloucester County. 52 of the units at Village at Harmony Garden will be age-restricted for seniors ages 55 and up. Additionally, 13 units will be set-aside for non-age restricted individuals with developmental disabilities, and 4 will be set aside for individuals over 55 with developmental disabilities. 100% of the residences at Village at Harmony Garden will have their rent supported by The Housing Authority of the Borough of Glassboro’s voucher program, helping those in the community in need at all levels access this new housing.Pennrose, the developer of this new community now has an informational website available that you can visit at: VillageatHarmonyGarden.com.
